It's been what, two weeks? Oh wow, I've missed you guys so much. A lot of things snatched my attention for a while but I'm here now, all yours😆
Well, I tried fitting everything in here as a single blog post but it got too lenghty and I know how lenghty posts can be a turn off so I decided to split it into parts.
Now, some of these things might not seem like a bad habit to you but trust me they are. Bad habits are basically things we do that keeps us from being our best, not so? I'm not going to go on about habits like binge drinking alcohol, smoking and the rest, my major aim is to talk about those simple things we probably might not have noticed before or don't pay much attention to.
Here's my bucket list of bad habits to quit.
1. Boasting and bragging about not reading.
It might seem cool when you hear statements like "Me and book are not one o" or "I'm not a fan of reading" most times when we say stuffs like this in public, it sends out a wrong message. Ever been in a gathering with your peer group and not being able to relate or join in what they were discussing? Well, I've been there, tasted the horrible feeling. A book will teach you so many things(learnt that the hard way) Read whatever positive books, articles, stories your hands can find. Remember, knowledge is power.
2.Ridiculing other things people like that you don't.
One popular example is the apple and Android product users. A friend of mine one asked me how I was still managing with the Android device, her exact words were "left for me, I would burn all Android phones to the ground" we laughed about it though. Your taste must not match the other person's and making them feel bad about what they like and can afford is wrong.
3. Awful remarks before answering phones and texts.
You see those silly remarks we make before picking calls or replying messages, they aren't cool especially when done with an audience. It'll make people see you in a bad light and start thinking if you do it to them too when they call or text. When you don't want to pick a call or reply a text, ignore it till you're ready to rather than making nasty remarks before doing so.
4. Blaming your zodiac sign for practically everything and telling people that's just how I am.
You aren't arrogant or stingy because of your zodiac sign. Your Zodiac sign has nothing to do with your flaws, take responsibility for your actions and avoid using statements like "Yea, I'm such a shitty person, it's just me" especially when apologizing. Don't try to play the victim because statements like that are manipulative.
5. Posting about every single thing that happens in your life on social media.
This is a major turn off, most times I just mute some status. It's one thing to be proud of your achievement and wanting people to celebrate with you and another thing to post everything personal in your life on social media. Limit the information you give to the internet, remember what ever has advantages also has disadvantages.
6. Talking during movies.
You might say this is petty but trust me, it's a habit that most people find annoying. I hate spoilers a lot, don't tell me, allow me figure it out. I have a friend on the other hand, she likes preview, she says it puts her in the mood to continue the movie. Some people just don't shut up during a movie, they can't help it. You find some of these persons in the cinema hall and they always leave you seething when you come out.
When seeing a movie with people avoid side comments if you know they don't like it, it's only advisable to do so when you're with farmilar people who match your energy and not with total strangers or an acquaintance.
7. Not returning things you borrowed.
It's good to return things before the owner asks for them. Even if they are your friends, it builds some kind of trust in a relationship. Always return stuffs you borrow, don't feel they'd let you have it after a while, that's a wrong method of getting things.
8. Keeping stuffs like clothes, items you haven't worn in years and know you won't.
*Hides face under hoodie* 😅😅😅
This is one hard habit because there's always this voice in your head asking you if you're sure and always reminding you how you might need that thing in the future but if you will attest to this you basically never need them in the future and they become a pile of junk in your wardrobe.
9. Tellings secrets.
"Promise you won't tell anybody"
"I promise" we promise and still go on to telling another of our closest friends and make them promise too forgetting that friend has another friend whom they trust and so on and before you know it, the precious secret is out of the bag. Most times we still tell them even when we know they won't keep it. Why? because habits are hard to stop. Try to keep your promises, no matter how tempting and hard it gets.
Always have the other person's feelings in mind. Ask yourself questions like "how would they feel if they find out"
That's the end of today's blog post and like I said earlier, I couldn't fit in everything here so I'll be writing on this particular topic later on, there's no specific date though.
Remember,
Aj loves you💕
